About the programme
This Apprenticeship programme is within the Manufacturing and Packing area, which
is recognised as world leading due to our ability to manufacture key Sterile Parenteral products. The Packing centre, packs a wide range of key Pharmaceutical products for the European, Middle East and Asia regions (EMEA). We supply multiple products which support our key therapeutic areas of Cardiovascular and Oncology.

Products leaving our Macclesfield site are supporting patients in over 140 countries worldwide.
How does the programme work?
This 2 year apprenticeship offers plant-based learning with practical, on-the-job training. You will be working alongside industry professionals to gain in-depth experience. Here, you’ll work with world-renowned talent and leaders on real projects to gain hands on experience whilst also working towards your qualification.
The key deliverables and responsibilities for a Manufacturing Apprentice are;
- Maintaining safety of self and others in line with company
- Following key operating
- Operate and changeover fully automated manufacturing machinery
- Be part of a team that delivers their agreed manufacturing plan
- Engage in life-long learning
There are two key Manufacturing areas of the Macclesfield site, the Global Packaging centre of excellence and the Sterile Parenteral Manufacturing Area. You will be selected for one of these areas where you will complete your apprenticeship, the focus will be on gaining an in depth knowledge of the area for which you will be working in and become a fully integrated part of the manufacturing team. Your will be trained to become a fully competent and validated team member who will work in a small team.
You’ll complete either a Level 3 or Level 4 BTEC qualification, dependent on previous education achievements. At the end of the apprenticeship, and if successful in securing a full time role in the business, there will be potential to continue with further education opportunities.
